WHAT WOULD YOUR RATHER DO?
We create spaces for cross-cultural collaboration, where artists and communities can come together to share, experiment, and make work that reflects the richness of contemporary Ireland. In a country still shaping its relationship with migration and identity, we see creativity as a powerful way to connect, challenge, and celebrate difference.
Our work is interdisciplinary and people-led. Through performances, workshops, and events, we support artists and audiences to create from their own perspectives and to encounter others along the way.
We are especially committed to artists and arts lovers from minority backgrounds, and to anyone curious about engaging across cultures. There is a need for spaces that are not divided into silos, but built on exchange, openness, and mutual support.
Rather Gather is rooted in intersectionality. We recognise that identities are layered, and that creativity thrives when those layers are welcomed rather than simplified.
This is a space to meet, to collaborate, and to build something together.
Our Team
Rather Gather is led by Ro Cruanas Artistic Director / CEO, whose work centres on cross-cultural collaboration, performance, and community-led artistic practice.
Supporting the artistic vision is Romi Beiroa Rey, Executive Director / Creative Producer, who oversees the development and delivery of Rather Gather’s programmes and partnerships.
Rather Gather is guided by a committed board of directors: Jim Kitson, Fabio Grassi, and Antonella Scanu, who bring a wealth of experience across the arts, culture, legal, business and community sectors.
Together, we work to support artists, foster collaboration, and create spaces where diverse voices can meet and thrive.
Our Team includes artists, choreographers, directors, dancers, singers, musicians, photographers, video makers, collaborators and admins from:
Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, France, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Iran, China, Venezuela...
